CEP has to date served primarily as an umbrella organization and leading resource for like-minded individuals and organizations within the United States. However, we also welcome opportunities to form mutually beneficial partnerships with organizations in other countries that share our mission and vision. CEP’s mission and vision are not confined to the United States but rather express our deep concern for the positive character development of young people everywhere.
PURPOSE
In response to requests for friendship and partnership from other countries, CEP has created an International Affiliate (IA) Program. The formation of this program affirms CEP’s beliefs that:
- organizations with similar goals and priorities to our own have formed or are forming in countries other than the United States;
- like-minded organizations around the world can learn much from one another about how to develop good character and citizenship effectively, and
- a growing international coalition of such organizations will benefit children and societies worldwide.
The overarching goal of this program is to further the cause of educating for character internationally and to learn together through collaboration and sharing of innovative and best practices. More specifically, through this program, CEP hopes to respond to international requests for:
- access to U.S. best practices and opportunities to share best practices internationally
- trainings, resources, and consultancy customized to fit country-specific and culturally-sensitive needs and requirements
- leadership development and leadership opportunities
- reciprocity, co-branding, and shared marketing
ELIGIBILITY
CEP will consider requests for International Affiliate (IA) status from any character-focused organization within any country. Applicants will be vetted by CEP and CEP reserves the right to create and modify a renewal cycle for such partnership agreements.

Character Canada
The Abbotsford City (British Columbia) of Character Society has been formally developing a character initiative in the City of Abbotsford over the past two years. The vision is quite simple: to establish a common language of character and then to intentionally weave that language into every segment of the community including government, business and education.
