CEP is committed to being your ears, eyes and voice regarding the latest character education news in our nation’s capital. Here is the latest from Washington:
- “Sequestration” is set to affect most government programs, including education. We at CEP hope that our leaders can find a solution so that schools in need of federal funds can get them!
- CEP’s President Mark Hyatt attended a House briefing on the Hill, focused on School Safety, to make sure to keep character education and school culture part of the dialogue.
- CEP is preparing to host our own briefing in July on the link between intentional character development and academic achievement. Is there a powerful speaker we should be sure to invite? Let Megan (mjones@character.org) know!
- New at this year’s Forum, we want to empower you to be your own advocate for character ed. Stay tuned for contact information, backup documentation and support as we encourage you to visit your Representative while you’re here in DC!
