To write this article, I consulted several reputable news sources, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, Fox News, and USA Today. Please view a handful of the articles here: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/08/us/08atlanta.html

Although I specifically mention Atlanta in my post, school officials in other states have been accused of and have admitted to changing grades as well. More information can be found here: http://www.usatoday.com/news/education/story/2011-12-29/schools-test-scandal/52274708/1?loc=interstitialskip
In light of these unfortunate events, the federal government recently submitted a request for information to gather technical expertise pertaining to testing integrity, saying “Even the slightest appearance of impropriety in the test administration process can undermine State accountability systems—painstakingly built over the past decade—and damage the credibility of reform efforts underway across the country.” For more information on this request, please view: https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2012/01/17/2012-753/request-for-information-to-gather-technical-expertise-pertaining-to-testing-integrity
In short, I thoroughly support holding our schools to high standards in ensuring that all children receive an excellent education. I also support balanced, fair, and thorough research, which formed the basis of this post. However, I do not support the fostering of school climates in which cheating is tolerated and/or encouraged. Thank you again for your question—I invite any and all requests to clarify my position, and I look forward to hearing many different viewpoints on this subject.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter, and for ensuring that the most accurate information has been provided. How this man knows that teachers and administrators are inflating scores? Does he knows more than the agencies doing the testing? What is the caracter of k-12 education that is eroding? The caracter that is changing is that school that were not teaching now have to ensure that student are learning. I am all for changing that "caracter". If that is erosion, we need more erosion.
Let the bigots that forgot the children of the intelectual ghetos that no child should be left behing!

Where is the research to substantiate all this nonsense?
