As always CEP is looking for ideas and best practices that can help educators develop young people of good character. We’d like to see innovative ideas and best practices that you have developed in your classrooms and schools. Special focuses include a research strand to explore the data on what works, an international perspective, and sessions to share state-wide initiatives.
Other ideas might be:
- Assessment—how to collect relevant data
- Leadership—sessions for administrators, teacher-leaders, students
- Service learning—integrated into curriculum and other effective strategies
- Strategies with a proven track record
- Strategies for getting staff buy-in and high school students buy-in
- Community connections/ getting community involvement
- Bullying, cyberbullying, and internet responsibility
- Internet safety and responsibility
- Sustainable environments
- Social and emotional learning
- Positive behavior supports (PBIS) and Character Education Partnership’s Eleven Principles
- Ways to improve school climate
