Students Help to Prevent Flooding

On the first day of spring vacation in lieu of sleeping in, Lindbergh High School Lacrosse players helped with sandbagging efforts to save some homes in one of the St. Louis, Mo. district's flooded subdivisions. Lindbergh District has been a Promising Practices winner and is a 2008 NSOC finalist. “Many homes were saved because of the wonderful volunteers who came from all around the area,” said Amy Richards, coordinator for character education. “The good news is that all of the rivers are going down today and the sun in shining as well."

CEP is proud to announce the publication of a new white paper on performance values. Approved for publication by the Board of Directors in March, the paper is titled “Performance Values: Why They Matter and What Schools Can Do to Foster Their Development.” Download

CEP is pleased to announce the appointment of three new people to its Board of Directors: Anne Bryant, Executive Director of the National School Boards Association; Eileen Santiago, principal of Thomas Edison Elementary School in Port Chester, New York; and Richard Teerlink, former President and CEO of Harley Davidson Motor Company.
