Foundations

Sprint Foundation Sprint Ahead for Education - National Grant Program for Character Education
awarding grants to school districts ($25,000) and individual schools ($5,000) to fund the purchase of resource materials, supplies, equipment and software that facilitates and encourages character education among K-12 students. With a national reach, the program is open to all US public schools (K-12) and US public school districts.

AT&T Foundation - Awards cash grants to nonprofit organizations that are committed to programs promoting self-sufficiency with the intent to enable people to lead healthy, productive lives.  They give primarily to the following program areas: Education, Civic & Community, and Arts & Culture. 

Albertson’s Community Support - Albertsons supports projects that serve youth and education within the communities that they operate.

Baseball Tomorrow Foundation supports programs in softball and baseball through generating matching funds for programs addressing youth between the ages of 10 and 16 years.

Delta Foundation - Primarily interested in assisting youth in three key areas: wellness, leadership development and cultural advocacy.

New York Life Foundation - To recognize the ongoing volunteer involvement of New York Life agents, employees and retirees in nonprofit charitable organizations and to support the New York Life Foundation's Nurturing the Children initiative, the Foundation will annually award up to 40 individual grants of $5,000 to the most compelling children-related projects submitted by eligible individuals.

We Can Change The World Challenge - The Siemens Foundation, Discovery Education, and the National Science Teachers Association invite you to join the only challenge of its kind that empowers students to create solutions to environmental problems in their own backyards, and to share their results with students nationwide. They'll learn. They'll take action. And their ideas may well end up changing the world. Students will compete for over $100,000 in grants and prizes. Grade levels K-8.

State Farm Companies Foundation - Established in 1963 as an independent private foundation. The Foundation is primarily committed to education, helping to raise the level of student achievement in our elementary and secondary schools, as well as supporting key higher education initiatives.  The Foundation provides funding for our Education Excellence (education) initiatives that are national in scope:

  • Service-Learning
  • Systemic Improvement
  • Teacher Excellence

The Foundation supports higher education initiatives through scholarships and the Matching Gift Program.

Starbucks Foundation - This program helps young social entrepreneurs improve communities around the world through new ideas, volunteerism and civic action. Grants up to $1,000 are available to programs that help youth develop these skills.

Teaching Tolerance offers grants of $500 to $2500 to preK-12 classroom teachers for projects designed to reduce prejudice among youth, improve intergroup relations in schools and/or support educator professional development in these areas. Proposals from other community organizations and houses of worship will be considered on the basis of direct student impact.

  • Equitable discipline policies and practices
  • Consistent educational experience for migrant, homeless, or foster-care students
  • Special education advocacy, with emphasis on parent and students' rights
  • Prejudice reduction efforts in racially isolated schools
  • Equitable school assignment plans
  • Grants For Schools and Districts

The Allstate Foundation supports national and local programs that fit within three focus areas. Proposals for program support must address needs within one of the three focus areas to be considered for funding:

  • Safe and vital communities. Programs should address:
    • Catastrophe response
    • Youth anti-violence
    • Neighborhood revitalization
    • Teen safe driving
  • Tolerance, inclusion and diversity. Programs should address:
    • Teaching tolerance to youth
    • Ending hate crimes
    • Alleviating discrimination

The ING Foundation supports:

  • 501(c)(3) non-profi t organizations providing unique programming and/or community
    outreach initiatives directed toward our primary areas of focus.
  • Broad, strategic partnership opportunities that leverage our commitment to
    empowerment and focus on improving the lives of individuals in underserved
    communities across the country.
  • Smaller, local programs and initiatives in key markets where our employees and
    customers live and work and where we have a large corporate presence.

Tiger Woods Foundation - Grants focus on providing opportunities to children who are underserved.  The average grant range is between $2,500 and $25,000. Note: This foundation provides grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit groups. Public schools are therefore not eligible for funding. 

United States Soccer Foundation awards cash grants to projects and programs that develop players, coaches, and referees in economically disadvantaged urban areas encompassing populations of 50,000 or more.

Wells Fargo - One of America’s largest financial contributors to nonprofits. They’ve given almost $200 million in grants the last two years – an average of $266,000 every day – to 14,000 nonprofits and schools. They provide grants to nonprofits that support education, community development, human services, arts and culture and the environment.
