Teacher Education Grant Pilot Site Reports

The Future Educators for Character grant program was created by CEP to identify innovative practices, influence teacher education programs, and make character education an integral part of the undergraduate and graduate training of teachers and educators. Each grant site had a different theoretical emphasis in its approach to character education. The University of Illinois-Chicago used social domain theory as the guiding conceptual framework. The University of Missouri-St. Louis approached character education from a social justice perspective and Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington used an integrated college-wide framework of education of the mind and heart.
