Grades PreK–9
Stonington, Connecticut
Private/Rural
Enrollment 271
2007 National School of Character

It’s important to include everyone—students, teachers, families.

--Paul G. Geise, Head of School

A private school located near the shores of Southeastern Connecticut, Pine Point is an educational community that clearly demonstrates excellence in academics and character. Students are involved in carefully planned, developmentally appropriate service-learning projects that address the school’s core values, build dynamic community partnerships, and provide students with the opportunity to give back. In 5th, 8th, and 9th grade “capstone projects” students select a reading and complete and present a related service project, for example. As students learn to research and write, they also learn about academic integrity. A sense of “family” is pervasive and tangible at Pine Point. Students are pleased to mentor younger students and a variety of regular cross-age activities occur. Students, parents, and teachers appreciate the close, congenial relationships built at the School. As a result, students overwhelmingly feel safe and their parents feel certain teachers know their children.
