Inquiries from Other Educators
As a National School of Character, your school serves as a model of effective character education for other educators, both locally and nationally, and staff members are ambassadors in this effort.

Once named an NSOC, you will likely get calls and e-mails from other educators requesting more information or asking to visit. CEP asks that you embrace these inquiries and maintain an open campus for visitors. Showcase your school as a demonstration site.

You may wish to prepare for this role by designating staff members responsible for tracking and responding to inquiries and giving tours. Many schools also train students to give tours and speak to visitors about your school’s program.

If possible, keep track of the number of inquiries you respond to over the year and the number of visitors you host. Doing so will enable us to tell the story of your impact as character educators next year. You may wish to use the Outreach Tracking Form to help you keep track of your efforts in this area.

If you receive any special visits, be sure to let us know so we can post these on Facebook. Contact Katie Hood at khood@character.org.
