A third grader recently shared, “We are a great school because we all work together trying our hardest to be the very best!” Stockton Elementary School celebrates all voices as children, parents, and staff come together. We plan together, share sorrows, respect each other, celebrate differences, and experience amazing daily adventures.

In the spring of 2008 training began to create our School Leadership Council (SLC.) We started our journey by learning our conflict resolution styles and by taking the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessment. We were able to break into groups to create our ideal school and present to each other our team vision. Trust, respect, a collaborative work environment that was welcoming and safe to students, staff, and parents were common threads.

Today what stands out at Richard Stockton is the comprehensive approach to character education, the opportunities for student and staff voices to be heard, and the goal of providing genuine opportunities for moral growth.
