Lunch With Dads
Harlan Elementary Schools Proud Dad’s Club is extremely active in the lives of their children by sponsoring many annual activities. These activities are defined as “Magical Moments.”  The most anticipated “Magical Moment” event culminates around “Lunch with Dad.” This activity underscores the impact fathers have on their children’s lives. The kids proudly display their projects and class room activities. Most importantly, dad gets some “one-on-one” time with his children to strengthen their special relationship. The children feel special because their fathers interrupted their busy day just to spend some significant time with them. Dependent on the season, this activity may be held outside with a picnic theme or indoors with food and drink available for dads to purchase. But the most enjoyable are the times where the dads bring in a special lunch for the kids and stay in the class rooms sitting at their tiny desks chatting about the child’s day. The results are kids with positive attitudes and pride in their families. They learn to share their dads with siblings in school and other kid whose dads cannot attend for one reason or another.
