Pay It Forward
Learning Express Academy (L.E.A.) Elementary School organized a fun, interactive and rewarding school-wide project entitled “Pay It Forward, L.E.A!”  The overall objective was to educate and inspire students to realize that they have the power to change the world. Each student was given 4 wristbands that read “Pay It Forward, L.E.A.”  The students were encouraged to wear 1 of the bracelets. Students were then encouraged to perform good deeds for friends, family members, other children, etc. outside of L.E.A. After students performed their good deed, they were asked to give a “Pay It Forward” wristband to the person they helped.  Students were then told to explain the “Pay It Forward” concept to the person they helped, and encourage that person to “Pay It Forward” by performing a good deed for someone else and passing along the wristband. After the students performed their good deeds, they returned to L.E. Academy, where they communicated their good deeds and completed a “Pay It Forward” slip that was displayed in the front lobby for all to see. The teachers and administration role-played the concept during a school assembly to give the students examples of how they can perform good deeds and pass along the wristbands so that the good deeds of L.E.A. students would have an exponential effect, as the wristbands continued to be passed along.
