Student Mixers
During the 2008/2009 school year, Northwest Valley 7th and 8th Grade Center initiated student mixers.  The student mixers are held after school in an effort to provide a safe, fun atmosphere for students to interact with their friends and teachers, as well as to have opportunities to make new friends.  Students have opportunities to engage in activities such as volleyball, basketball, dancing, exercise and socializing with others.  The staff members who supervise the mixers also participate with the students in these activities.  School sponsored clubs are able to sign up to have student members of the club sell concessions at the mixer in order to raise funds for their club.  The proceeds from the ticket sales are donated to local organizations that benefit our community.  Overall, the student mixers have been well received by staff, students, and parents.
