Ambassador Leadership Program
Ambassadors is an initiative in which fourth and fifth grade students may choose to participate. Students volunteer their time either before or after school or during their recess to help a teacher. The ambassador program serves many purposes. It allows each student who participates to build and foster a relationship with another adult at school. Students work with the same staff member the entire school year and are evaluated on their performance. The student and teacher use the evaluation as a tool to discuss and reflect upon the student’s service. Ambassadors act as leaders among the student body and are often selected to lead school tours or greet visitors. Their sense of responsibility is heightened as they develop time management, organizational, and communication skills. These lifelong skills will support students’ studies throughout their educational career. Ambassadors are recognized on bulletin boards and at school wide assemblies as they reach landmark hours of service.
