Junior Counselors
Beasley Elementary instills in the students that they can be the best role models to their peers. The fifth grade students have the opportunity to become Beasley Junior Counselors. Junior Counselors are a group of students who are responsible for being a model example of Beasley students. The Junior Counselors meet every Friday to discuss issues they see within the student body and receive training on how to handle situations. The training is conducted by our school counselor and is ongoing. The Junior Counselors have been trained in the areas of conflict resolution, mediating, listening, social skills, and various other topic as the group finds helpful. The Junior Counselors are the school’s leaders for many activities in the building and community. During Red Ribbon Week, they decide the themes for the days, make posters, sell pencils for a service project, and involve the student body in week-long activities. They are responsible for keeping their desk clean and patrol the classrooms monthly to give out “Clean Desk Awards”. The Junior Counselors are being given the opportunity to learn and demonstrate good character through community service with real-life situations.
