Connecting Character Across the Curriculum
The academic curriculum for Branson Elementary West is a web-based grid that is accessible to teachers, parents and the community. Since the move to web-based curriculum, the way teachers collaborate, share resources and plan lessons has evolved. In an effort to more fully integrate character education into all facets of the curriculum, a compilation of character resources have been added to the web-based curriculum. A separate grid has been created for each of the twelve character traits. The grids are divided into 3 categories for easier navigation including general character trait information, print resources and technology resources. Each category is composed of appropriate resources for users. These grids make resources more accessible for teachers to connect character across the curriculum on a daily basis, and incorporating the traits into lessons becomes more efficient.
