Vision4Life
Vision4Life seeks to help students build character in a comprehensive way. Our young men and women participate separately in two days of seminar and community service. In preparation, students are assembled in small groups a few weeks prior to the seminar; teachers, together with student leaders, conduct team building discussions around the current year’s character theme. During Vision4Life, highly inspirational speakers are brought into the school to address issues of character around the theme. Throughout the day, there are three break-out sessions for the small groups to reconvene and reflect on what the speaker has to say and what it has to do with them personally. The following day, these same small groups are bused to locations throughout the city to perform a full day’s work service. Lots of opportunities for reflection and mentoring by community leaders and our teachers are provided during breaks and lunch. Finally, a few days after Vision4Life, there is a celebration assembly with a slide show and open-mic sharing of personal reflections on the seminar and the work day.
