Fox Elementary Veteran's Day Parade
Fox Elementary School is proud to host a Veteran’s Day breakfast and parade each year. One of the goals is to increase the students' awareness as to what qualifies a person as a veteran, and the school discusses the dedication and patriotism displayed by servicemen and women in the military. Classrooms hold meetings to discuss the meaning of Veteran’s Day and how their ideas could be incorporated into preparation activities. Ideas generated in these class meetings include: students participating in making banners, posters, patriotic hats, flags, cards thanking the veterans for their service. The entire Fox Elementary community, students, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, community members, and central office administrators band together for this special celebration. It is an opportunity for the students to participate in a character building activity where they are honoring men and women who demonstrate outstanding character by serving in the U.S. military. The school reaches out to the community and local businesses for donations for this event and their generosity is overwhelming. This is a very inspiring day for everyone involved.
