Python Pride
The goal of the program is two-fold: 1) to recognize students for positive behavior; 2) to teach students positive character traits by encouraging them to share with one another actions that demonstrate good and proper behavior. Specifically, students are encouraged to inquire about actions that have been recognized as Python Pride positive behaviors and be inspired by such. The program recognizes students who are observed carrying out a character trait by awarding a Python Pride card with the student's name on it. The student can hang the card on the Python Pride bulletin board, under that character trait, for others to see. That student is asked to encourage others to do the same. Simultaneously, the teacher sends a Python Pride note to the administrator with the specifics of the student's act. The administrator then invites the family to recognize the student's positive behaviors at home. The student's outstanding character is announced at a weekly assembly. The program definitely reinforces positive behaviors in students and supports a positive school climate.
