Honoring our Veterans
The Veterans Day Program has been a community celebration for over 25 years at Jefferson R-7 School. The program is organized and produced by the students of the Exceptional Child Program (ECP). The students are responsible for organizing a program that will show respect and integrity to honor all veterans for their service. Students from all grade levels, staff and community members take part in the program for veterans and community members. The students in the ECP class make items that are handed to community members in attendance, choose readings to honor the veterans, invite staff and community members to participate. They also involve students from all grade levels, develop a PowerPoint presentation, decorate, clean up and write thank you notes. Students produce this program to honor the veterans, while also teaching respect and integrity to the student body for those that have made sacrifices for the country.
