Portraits of Character
Portraits of Character is a visual mural showcasing the excellent character within the school. The mural is a collection of ceiling tiles with painted portraits of the students who display outstanding character. First, a student is nominated by a peer, staff member or parent for their excellent character. Students can be nominated for various reasons; a simple random act of kindness to organizing a lemonade stand to raise money to support others. Then student’s portrait is painted by fellow students who are also selected to be “Ceiling Tile Artists” because of their great character. Finally, the completed tiles are hung in the hallways. The ceiling tiles have created a beautiful growing mural and visual reminder to all students, staff and the community to always be your best and of the excellent character at Kellison Elementary School.
