A Warm Welcome
At Lindbergh High School (LHS), class spirit is enhanced by a rolling model of a grade level team consisting of a principal and guidance counselor that moves through the four years with their students. Although the school's transition student-led buddy club, LINK Crew, helps make transition from 8th grade to 9th grade quite successful, 25-30 new enrollees for sophomore year may feel left out. To welcome new students to LHS, a special party was initiated by the grade class officers to help new students to get to know one another and the LHS staff. Mentor students shared information on events, clubs, activities, organizations and teams at LHS. Mentors regularly invite and encourage their buddies to participate in school events. They spent time reflecting on what it means to be a good host, and realized they must make guests feel like the center of attention.Students enjoyed playing games that helped connect and shared their past stories and experiences brought with them to Lindbergh with their new friends who have attended Lindbergh Schools.
