"Banners of Community"
“Banners of Community” has been an all-inclusive project designed to dissolve a school district of vast mileage into a visual demonstration to all, that our uniqueness makes us stronger, as a whole. The project involved all stake-holder groups; parents, administrators, staff, community members and, most importantly, the students, in the design and completion of a banner that would represent their area’s character and community initiatives, in a district extending 214 square miles, three counties, and 11 small communities. With pride beaming, the banners were unveiled on the opening day of school by student representatives from each of the district’s eight buildings. The building’s banners uniquely showed the citizenship, volunteer projects, character initiatives, and individuality of each building. They are used in community events and displayed daily within their home buildings, brought back together to proudly make the volumes of miles seem like mere inches.
