Wildcat Character Carnival
The Wildcat Character Carnival has developed into an annual kick-off event to celebrate the character program in the Neosho District. Every school participates by creating a carnival- type game that can be played by all district students. These games are free to students and their families. Each school chooses one of the district character traits and develops their game around that character trait. The activity is designed to help students gain a better understanding of the character traits that the district has identified to work on throughout the school year. Refreshments are provided by the district character committee and community donations. High school students volunteer to help with the activities by manning booths such as face painting, temporary tattoos and by helping with games and music. The high school agriculture department provides pony rides and a petting zoo. This event has seen an increase in participation of the families and provides a positive opportunity to present the character program and to
introduce the character traits to parents and community members.
