Wall of Honor
Sayreville War Memorial High School's project is the “SWMHS Wall of Honor”. The Character Education committee has devoted the school's showcases to honor those Sayreville graduates who have served or are currently serving in the US Armed Forces. The showcases display the pictures, the branch and rank of each graduate, as well as their years at Sayreville. The rationale behind this project is to help students recognize the importance of the people who put their life on the line everyday for our freedom and the value of their service. It also helps students make a connection with something real going on in the world. Approximately 10 faculty, staff and students are directly involved with this project on a daily basis, collecting information, speaking to people in the community and helping with the production and maintenance of the display. The students have formed committees to handle different aspects of the project. Students check in daily to collect new information/pictures received and prepare the showcases. This project is bridging the generational gap among decades of Sayreville War Memorial Alumni.
