S.E.S. Hall of Fame
Sullivan Elementary School's "Hall of Fame" is a way for students to learn character traits while interviewing the school staff and creating a bi-monthly display for the “Hall of Fame.” This display is located in the front entrance for all students, staff, and visitors to view. The S.E.S. fifth-grade Renaissance Committee, which consists of 10 students, chooses a new staff member to add to the "Hall of Fame" every two weeks. In the Renaissance Committee, students were selected based on excellent academic achievement, good character, and leadership potential. The students personally interview the selected staff members, asking questions about school experiences, the challenges they face, and personal interests. A photograph of the staff member and the interview responses are placed in the spotlight of  “Hall of Fame". The S.E.S. “Hall of Fame” has been very effective in providing connections with the students and staff. As a result of this practice, the school has become a more caring community. This student-created idea and practice is a delightful way for students, parents and community members to see the educators in a new light.
