Woodson Adult High School

Harvest of Cultures
The Harvest of Cultures is a festivity at Woodson Adult High School that brings together all the students, their families, teachers, staff, administrators, and special guests to celebrate what  culturally-rich students have to offer. The student organizers recognize and utilize the knowledge, talents, and resources of every member of the school community to produce a celebration for the adult high school community, unlike any other of its kind in Fairfax County. There’s live music, traditional dress, arts and crafts, historical presentations, exquisite cuisine from all corners of the earth, and an evening of entertainment. The Harvest of Cultures celebration truly is a memorable event. The celebration itself is dwarfed by the hard work the students put forth in planning, organizing, and rehearsing. Many of the students start off as strangers and end up as great friends. In an environment where previously students came to school only for their classes because of the constraints on their time, the Harvest of Cultures provides an avenue for adult students to develop and maintain support systems with people from varied cultural backgrounds.
