AES Tea Cup Dinner/Dance
Alcoa Elementary School in Tennessee is extremely active in the lives of its students and sponsors many annual activities. One of these activities is the Father/Daughter Tea Cup Dance. This anticipated “Magic Moment” event highlights the impact fathers or male influences (uncle, grandpa, coach, etc.) have on these girls’ lives. The event is sponsored by our PTO and is free to all that attend. The most important aspect of this event is that the male influence in their life gets some one-on-one time with them to strengthen their special relationship in a wonderful setting. The girls feel special because their male influences have taken the time out of their busy schedules to spend some significant time with them. They are served a delicious three-course dinner by candlelight followed by a short speech by our guidance counselor on how they are like a special tea cup that should be treated with respect and dignity. Pictures are taken with their escort and presented to them along with a coupon book to be used for more special events together later. Every girl should feel as special as a tea cup!
