Focus Groups
Boone Elementary Focus Groups allow students to voluntarily join groups that work together to improve various areas of our school. Students in 3rd through 5th grade have the opportunity to sign up for a focus group of their choice. There are nine different groups to choose from, including a group to create bulletin boards to display our monthly character trait, a recycling group to help emphasize our going green initiative, an ambassador group to help welcome new students as they move into our school family, a cleaning crew to help our custodian keep our school clean, a newspaper group allowing students to write short pieces to be included in the school’s monthly newsletter, a birthday group to make cards for each staff member, a practicing professionals group to allow students to assist our paraprofessionals throughout the day, a mail group to assist with the distribution of mail each day, and a paper group to help keep the printers in the building loaded with paper for the teachers. These groups have helped our students feel like they have an active part in the success of our school as well as giving them a sense of belonging, responsibility, and accomplishment.
