Non-Negotiables
Our school community developed 12 essential characteristics we needed to promote in order to maintain our core values. After developing our core values with input from staff, students, and parents, we developed a list of 12 behaviors to which we would hold all stakeholders accountable, which we called our non-negotiables. These 12 non-negotiables were reinforced daily, became a part of the school's culture, and provided staff, students, and parents with a way to discuss our progress as a school of character. Students and staff reflected frequently on their adherence to these non-negotiables, creating awareness of individual progress. As a result, our students’ understanding of our core values (Respect, Perseverance, Integrity, and Kindness) has increased and our school’s culture of excellence in academics and character has been greatly improved.
