Fox Olympics
Fox High School takes a holistic approach to instill character in our students by developing meaningful, working relationships with our community through service learning. Fox High School has reached out to our special needs community, and what began as simple community service has evolved into student-initiated and student-led learning that reaches out to our special needs community. As part of our “Anti-Bullying – No Place for Hate” campaign, we believe that recognizing and celebrating our differences is vital in order for this program to be successful. Fox Olympics is student-driven, with our high school students running and coaching all events. On top of the training our athletes take part in, other departments have jumped on board as well, offering peer teaching in the classrooms that connect our special needs students with partners in the classroom to learn and explore together. “They still talk about the students who cheered them on, the media that took their pictures, and the awards ceremony where they were recognized in front of their non-special education peers. For once they truly felt as if they were a part of the Fox family and not just some kid in “that classroom!”
