We are Family!
Our family group program is an interactive program that consists of all grades blending together to complete cooperative games, projects and activities. This program works extremely well for us because we are a small school of 135 students. Every Thursday morning, students divide into fifteen families, with students ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade in each family. Family groups start each fall and meet weekly throughout the year. The children usually spend between thirty to forty minutes together. We feel our family groups promote a favorable school atmosphere. Team-building exercises and role-plays are included to provide students with listening and non-judgmental responding skills. The guidelines for this successful program are developing positive attitudes, modeling of good character and cooperation. The family program has been a beneficial influence on the students involved.
