Hope Academy Charter School Community Circles
Community Circles are a unique means by which Hope Academy Charter School emphasizes the importance of character in a consistent and meaningful way. This twice-daily practice involves the entire school community, students, and faculty coming together to learn about core values and positive goals. During Morning Circles, the community gathers to hear a daily lesson expressed through music, story, poetry, or proverb. During the Afternoon Circle, the community returns to evaluate the day and emphasize student accomplishments and actions that indicate good character. This structured framework reinforces our school’s core values and is consistent with our mission to provide students with a holistic educational experience that enhances all aspects of life—intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological. Furthermore, given that we serve an underprivileged population, we believe this ritual promotes the qualities and objectives necessary for overall student achievement and community revitalization in a nurturing and sustaining format.
