We Are Bucket Fillers!
The Bucket Filling practice is based on the book “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” written by Carol McCloud (winner of eight awards). Her message is clear: “We all carry an invisible bucket that contains our feelings. When our bucket is full, we feel great. When our bucket is empty, we feel sad. A “bucket filler” is someone who says or does nice things for other people. By doing this, they are filling other people's buckets and filling their own bucket at the same time. The goal is to “create safer, kinder, more respectful school cultures where children are ready to learn, and to create communities were all children grow up to be confident, resilient, caring, and responsible” (Bucket Fillers, Inc). This became my mission this school year.
