Year-End Character Self Evaluation
Every year, the educators on 73 Imagine charter school campuses in 12 states and the District of Columbia engage in a "Year-End Self Evaluation". At the beginning of the year Character Task Forces are formed on each campus. The task forces are composed of teachers, staff and students; they advance objectives for positive character development in four areas: (1) School Climate, (2) Integrating Character and Academic Achievement, (3) Student Interactions, and (4) Family and Community Involvement in Character Efforts. Throughout the school year, the "Character Task Forces" continuously collect data and feedback from those in their school community, and advice from sister schools on character education goals and implementation. The process of data compilation includes surveying parents, students, and staff; and tracking character exhibited by students. To conclude the year, each Character Task Force presents their Self-Evaluations in narrative form to share the story of their progress through collected data, sharing testimonies and stories of the impact, analysis of the met/unmet goals, and future improvements.
