Garden Ambassadors
Fifth grade students apply for the position of garden ambassadors through a written application and an interview. Once chosen, they have a series of trainings (workshops held during non-academic school time or after school). They begin by learning everything about the garden (its history, the current projects underway, and some of our dreams for the future) so that they can give a knowledgeable, in-depth tour to visitors. Students also lead garden activities with younger students, make Monday morning garden reports over the intercom, write and take photographs for the student-created garden website, and host events such as Global Youth Service Day, the garden segment of Back to School Night,  and Open House. After successfully completing one year of garden ambassadors, students may apply to be a sixth grade Senior Ambassador with increased responsibilities.
