Kehrs Mill Book Foundation
The Kehrs Mill Book Foundation puts new books into the homes of needy students. With the generous donations of a caring family and the support of the parent/teacher organization, needy students are given the opportunity to go to the biannual book fair at school and “purchase” a book of their choice. Teachers identify and nominate students who deserve but cannot afford to purchase a book. During the book fair, the nominating teacher takes their student to the fair and together they pick out an appropriate book. The relationship between the teacher and the student is strengthened through this experience.
