One Village
It takes an entire village to raise a child. At Main Street, we are working hard to bring the community into the school so that our faculty, staff, parents and community members can become One Village, learning to Value, Influence, Listen, Lead, Actively Guide, and Educate our children. The invitations offered a chance to partner up with the school for our children. We gathered for dinner and information and pledged to work together to raise these children. The Main Street Elementary Gym was arranged to allow guests to stroll through booths featuring MSE programs that included Fitness and Health, the Arts, Project-based Learning, Enrichment Clubs, Publications, Panther Tales, the Catch Me Program, Workshops (Parent-Child Academy and Car Club), Student and Staff Recognition programs, the A.P.P.L.E. volunteer program, School Improvement Council & PTA, Field Trip Opportunities, Service Learning, Adopt-A-Class, Academic Tutoring, and the Ladies’ & Gentlemen’s Clubs. MSE staff members were stationed at the tables to answer questions and share how a partnership featuring any of these programs could benefit the school and how the school could benefit the sponsoring organization. Over 150 local churches, businesses, organizations and individuals were invited.
