Marlboro County High School Bridge Program
The Marlboro County High School Bringing Rigorous Instruction Determination Guidance to Everyone (BRIDGE) program can be viewed as a catalyst program for Marlboro County reaching out to "At Risk" students to give them the necessary academic, leadership, character, ethics, citizenship, and specific "learning for life" skills that are needed to be successful in the 21st Century. The Action(s) taken comprising the basic concept for the B.R.I.D.G.E. program consists of the concept that Marlboro County High School is the "mainland" where as the components are islands surrounding the mainland with the program a "Bridge" bringing the program's objectives to the at risk students on the islands. The BRIDGE program consists of eight programs: The AMIKIDS School of Infinity (the District's Alternative School) JROTC Program, AMIKIDS Camp Bennettsville JROTC Program, Project PRIDE, and the MCHS Trainable Mentally Disabled (TMD) JROTC class. In addition, the high school’s Crossroads Program, Special Education Gender Specific (Females) Food and Nutrition Class, Weight Lifting Class (Males), and a Gardening Technology Class (Males), are components of this program . The goal all of these programs is to raise the participants' self-efficacy.
