English Language Learners Parent-Teacher Night
Staff and faculty of our school host a parent-teacher night exclusively for families of our English as a second language population. Dinner is provided and entire families attend the event, from infants to grandparents. Interpreters are present to help as needed. School and community personnel provide information regarding programs within the school and community and answer questions. Families and students who might otherwise feel excluded due to cultural and language barriers are drawn into the school. School personnel demonstrate clear-cut goals for students' academic education and elicit support from families to help them reach these goals. Families experience a caring, respectful, and inclusive environment that transcends cultural differences and become partners with the school in promoting character in its students.
