Setting the Structure for a Sucessful Recess
At South Grafton Elementary School, the physical education teacher takes a lead role in teaching the children how to have a successful recess, while the classroom teachers and staff provide support with recess during morning meeting and other appropriate times throughout the year, as well as in providing supervision and support for the children at recess. We will also revisit our recess expectations and behaviors with the children several times throughout the year including after vacations and in the spring when the fields open up.
