Joke of the Day
Westhaven Elementary School’s Joke Of The Day originated as a way to create more opportunities for our students to be a part of how we start our day. Students from any grade can submit school appropriate jokes to the office. These jokes are kept in a folder in the order in which they are received. One is pulled each day, and the student who submitted it is invited down to the office to share their joke with the rest of the school over the intercom during morning announcements. Students love sharing their jokes as much as the others love hearing them, and the practice allows each day to begin with a laugh and a smile.
