Care Bear Crunch Cooking Show
Antonia Middle is "On Track for a Healthy Life" this year, so students from Character Council were tasked with finding a healthy alternative to the normal after-school snack. Council students began by finding a healthy but tasty trail mix recipe. The recipe's main ingredient was Teddy Grahams. Students decided to add a character aspect to their snack since having a healthy life does not just include eating right and exercising. With that, the Carebear Cooking Show was in full swing. Council members chose character traits they felt they held and then created a Carebear Belly logo to represent them. Some student's logos showed positive attitudes, while others boasted perseverance and dedication. While teaching students to make their healthy snack, council students lead a reflection activity about their own character traits. The reflection activity included students creating their own Carebear Belly logo showing their character traits, and discussing ways it affects their lives and people around them. These individual belly logos were then put together as a visual representation and a constant reminder of each advisory class' promise of good character.
