Beverly Bobcat Choices Poster Contest
Beverly School started the Bobcat Choices program this school year. Students were taught about eight different strategies to use to solve a problem with peers: Talk it Out, Walk Away, Go to Another Game, Wait & Cool Off, Make a Deal, Ask Them to Stop, Apologize, and Share & Take Turns. To promote student ownership of these choices, we held a poster contest. Students in grades 1-5 were asked to illustrate one of the choices. The posters used pictures and speech bubbles to show how kids can solve their own problems. The winning posters were added to a bulletin board that the whole school can see. All of the other submissions were put into books that are available in the Media Center.
