Operation PEACE Project
Bowles Elementary began an ongoing service learning, community-action initiative called Operation PEACE Project which stands for People, Environment, Animals, Concern, for Everyone. Although we have been honored with receiving a Missouri and National School of Character award, we continue to strive in our growth and enhancement of our character education. This year with the help of our students we developed our plan. This has been an incredible experience for our students to further empower themselves with character and service learning opportunities. We have specifically reached out to honor our public safety workers, share messages of cheer with a local hospital, collected and donated stuffed animals to needy children, supplied food to an area food bank, provided needed items for a Senior Dog Project, participated in an eyeglass collection for those in need worldwide, and cleaned up/beautified our Bowles school grounds. Reaching out beyond our school and incorporating our Operation PEACE Project throughout our year has broadened our character education and created more opportunities to share with others.
