Rolling With Character!
Rolling with Character was designed to ensure effective collaboration between the Cedar Springs Elementary School staff and the transportation staff. This valuable connection strategically bridges these two entities, opens lines of communication, and has lowered bus referrals while bringing a character education focus to the school bus. The program has three components: 1. Positive notes from the bus driver for positive behavior by the students followed by a positive call home from the school counselor. 2. Teachers adopt a bus and are a support system as the students load to go home for the day. 3. The school counselor rides each bus home, once a month. In a classroom meeting format, the counselor and the students discuss the character word of the month and how it relates to home, school, and the school bus.
