Building News and Character at CJHS
At the beginning of the year students in the computer teacher's homeroom (Raider Way) learned how to use the equipment to record, edit and deliver daily messages, interviews, recognitions and announcements to the building. After a month, the homerooms change and those original students teach the next group to do the same. Each month new students have a voice in what is being broadcasted in the school. Students archive songs and sound bites that are pertinent to the stories. Students make decisions on whom to interview, write the questions, and edit the interview to prepare it for broadcast. Often someone will go around with the recorder asking students for opinions or viewpoints on bullying, rules, dance ideas, etc. Students love to hear their voice over the speaker.
