Students United for Safe Schools
Ten student leaders with a passion for positively impacting the school climate and changing the social norms within the building were selected to participate in a grant through Child Abuse Prevention Services. The program allowed for a two-day training focused on educating the students as to what bullying is and the negative effects it has on all involved and a school survey regarding bullying. The training focused on the development of a comprehensive approach aimed at changing the culture within the school. As a result of this training, the Comsewogue High School Chapter of Students United for Safe School was formed.
