New Kids on the Block
New Kids on the Block is a program that helps ease the transition of students who are new to our school. These new students are given a booklet with pictures and names of administrators, office staff, related arts teachers, and other support personnel. They are then assigned a "buddy" from their new classroom to take them around the school to meet all of the people in the book. Each staff member greets the child, welcoming them to Delmae and gives the child a small welcome gift. In this process two things happen, one the new student gets to meet all of the staff they might come into contact with and they also make a new friend in the process.
