Middle School Peace Ambassadors Club
Volunteers from Middle School have formed a club during recess, and they are referred to as Peace Ambassadors. The counselor advises and guides the students as they plan a variety of activities to promote peace and respect throughout the school. The students also engage in assisting the counselor when issues need to be peacefully resolved among students. They share strategies with other students regarding ways to safely handle bullying situations. The Peace Ambassadors have read anti-bullying stories to primary students. They have also incorporated anti-bullying songs, along with role playing to equip students with effective strategies on how to resolve conflicts peacefully. The younger students are very receptive to messages taught by older students. The Peace Ambassadors are developing leadership skills as well as self-confidence. The volunteers have made various wall displays throughout the building to foster a peaceful environment conducive to learning. Their displays are age-appropriate and creative.
